Dengue is a scary disease that can cause severe illness and even death. It is a fast-spreading viral infection, and therefore, it is advisable to diagnose it at the earliest.
Is dengue curable?
Dengue is a viral fever caused by the dengue virus transmitted through the bite of infected mosquitoes. Many of us take mosquito bites in general. However, these can be life-threatening. There is a huge risk of dengue, malaria, chikungunya, etc., in case of a mosquito bite. People who have been exposed to dengue once again are at higher risk. Proper care is needed before this virus reaches you.
Dengue test cost
The average cost of a dengue test in India is Rs 500 to R. 600. But in some laboratories, it can be as low as Rs. 300 to Rs. 400, and this price can go up to Rs. 1500 or more. But the new dengue detection method from India makes the dengue test cost ten times cheaper. The accuracy of the test is available only once the final report is out.
Tests to detect dengue
A lab test is the only way to detect dengue. The different stages at which the doctors conduct various blood tests include Dengue NS1 Antigen, Immunoglobulin M (IgM), Immunoglobulin G (IgG), Dengue RNA PCR test, etc. But these tests are done based on the level of infection as not all tests will give the same result. That is why it is essential to consult a doctor before getting the test done.
Scientists and researchers have developed a new dengue detection method at Bharathiar University in India. It is a plant-derived vaccine made with the agroinfiltration technique. The virus’s DNA is introduced into the plants’ cytoplasm. The antigen is used in the vaccine to produce an immune response.
