The
purpose of a car insurance is to protect you against damages both physical and
financial in nature in case of a mishap. However, there may be incidences when
the claim might get rejected due to mistakes at your end.
Here
are some of the reasons why your car insurance policy might get rejected.
● Not having a proper driving
license. In cases, where the license has expired, it belongs to another set of
vehicles, it is fake, etc. may not get your insurance processed.
● In case of an accident when
you are found to be under the influence of drugs/ alcohol. Driving under the
influence of drugs/ alcohol or drunk driving is prohibited by the law and may
lead to your car insurance
claim being rejected.
● If you use a private vehicle
for commercial purposes. For instance, if the vehicle is used as a passenger
vehicle or as a public goods carrier instead of personal use. In such scenarios
your claim might not be entertained.
● If your car insurance is
under someone else’s name. In the case when you purchase a second-hand car and
the insurance might be in the owner’s name from whom you bought the car.
● If you fail to inform the
insurance provider about the accident/ mishap within a set timeframe which is
between 48-72 hours you may get your car claim rejected.
● When you do not inform your
insurance provider about installation of CNG/ LPG kit. As this requires
additional premium to be paid it may lead to rejection of your claim.
